A young Australian entrepreneur with a large online following has received a formal business-style proposal from a woman who wants to go on a date with him.
Kyle Hunt was confused when he received the pitch document from an admirer outlining the reasons why he should be her plus one at an upcoming event she will be attending.
The 25-year-old, who is the chief executive of three companies employing more than 80 staff, boasts around 155,000 followers on TikTok and another 37,500 on Instagram.
Mr. Hunt, who grew up in foster care and has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the business world, is used to scrutinizing partnership proposals from eager corporate suitors.
But on Monday, a very different field appeared in his mailbox.
A young woman named Ebony prepared a short but persuasive six-page PowerPoint presentation, inviting him to accompany her to a local baseball team’s homecoming night.
“I love how much you love PowerPoints,” she wrote.
In the document, Ebony offered a familiar overview of the business’s “value proposition” for spending an evening together at the shindig.
In addition to being a “hot date” and providing intriguing fodder to his online fans, other features of the date included a spit dinner, games and raffles, and immersion in “a new sports culture.”
Like all good proposals, she anticipated some of the potential obstacles her plan might encounter – in this case, Mr Hunt’s “time constraints”.
But rising to the challenge, the proposal emphasized the benefits of “a good meal” and some much-needed “down time.”
Apart from a nice night out, the date would give him an opportunity to be spontaneous, Ebony added.
“I didn’t open it at first because I didn’t know what it was,” Hunt told news.com.au.
“After a few days, she wrote me back and asked me to mark page five and the resource and case management risk overview. I thought it had something to do with my work, then I opened it and I couldn’t believe it.”
The detailed document was unlike anything he had seen before, at least in a personal capacity, and he was impressed.
“I was definitely intrigued.
Alas, by the time he looked at the proposal, the big night had passed and gone.
“It was the weekend and unfortunately I didn’t open it until yesterday. But I think there is potential for a make-up date. We’ll see.”
Hunt shared footage of the proposal on social media, with Ebony’s permission, and was overwhelmed by the response.
“I had about 8,000 responses. It’s literally the most words I’ve ever gotten on an Instagram story. People loved it. It’s wonderful.”
His staff have joked about the overwhelming attention he’s getting every morning, he said.
For his part, there’s no denying Mr Hunt’s status as an eligible bachelor, with his posts regularly inundated with questions about his relationship status and interest in romantic advances.
He regularly shares his inspiring story of overcoming a difficult childhood against the odds to found several successful companies.
In March, the head of Healthcare Providers Association, digital consultancy firm Provider Digital and Romanian medical cannabis supplier, told news.com.au about the keys to its success.
His unique approach to workplace culture has given his business operations not only a high retention rate, but has made him highly sought-after roles among young workers.
Whenever a job opening is posted, Hunt said it can be guaranteed to get “a thousand or more applications.”
